By way of an endnote in Rick Perlstein's Nixonland, the Late Adopter finds that in 2002 the San Francisco Chronicle published "Reagan, Hoover and the UC Red Scare," a special report revealing how the FBI's "covert campaign to disrupt the Free Speech Movement and topple UC President Clark Kerr helped launch the political career of an actor named Ronald Reagan."
